Penns Landing Summer Jazz Concert - Adam Hawley

Penns Landing Summer Jazz Concert - Adam Hawley

So this past week, I took part in photographing a concert for the 1st time. Talking about doing something out of your comfort zone. Other photographers there, with equipment better than mine, and the crowd behind me, looking at me, expecting that I know what I am doing...which I didn't.

The music started around 730pm. All the photographers went right at it. Full Frames. 70-200s, 24-70s. Here I am with my Rebel T6, and 50mm (Nifty 50). It was a last minute decision, and I didn't have time to rent a lens that I felt would be better. I sat back, watching what others were doing.

I finally got the nerve to move in. I started taking a few shots. Adam, moved over to my side. I got down to shoot up at him, he looked at me, smiled, and started jamming on his guitar at me. I got a few shots. It was at that moment, I got in the zone, and knew, just act like you belong. I moved around in front of the stage, getting different angles all night. 90 mins later, the show was over, and I had 1000+ pics to go through. While not all were keepers, I did my best, with what equipment I had with me. In the end, I got some great shots, and the confidence to know I could do this again. Below are a few pictures. More are in my Concert Gallery.
